A rebuild gives your boots new life while keeping the upper portion that is already broken in to your ankle and leg.
Current Lead Time
Current rebuild lead time: 4-6 Weeks
Lead times may vary depending on the condition of your boots, the work needed, and our current rebuild schedule. If your boots were built with custom sizing or special fitting adjustments, the rebuild may take additional time.
What’s Included
During a rebuild, we reuse the original upper portion of your boot. The upper is the part that wraps around your ankle and lower leg.
Most other worn materials are replaced, including the soles, vamps, shanks, heel counters when needed, and worn hooks or eyelets. We also re-stitch problem seams, clean the boots, and polish them before sending them back.
Tongues are not included in a standard rebuild. If your tongues need to be replaced, we can replace them for an additional charge.
Additional Work or Changes
If additional work is needed, we may contact you before completing the rebuild. This may include safety toes, toe caps, custom fitting, mismatched sizing, or other special repairs.
If you would like to change the leather color on the lower portion of your boots, or change from smooth leather to roughout, please include a note in the box with your boots.

Here at Frank's, we're committed to quality and great customer service! When you shop with us, we want you to feel that we've surpassed your expectations. We are a handmade boot company built on custom fitting, using precise hand measurements, so we ask that you choose your boot options carefully, read the Purchase Disclaimer and FAQs/Warranty/Returns section.
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT:
- All returns will be considered upon inspection and at our sole discretion, on a case-by-case basis. If it is found that the boots have been worn outside or deemed in “used” condition, they may qualify as non-returnable. A 20% processing/service fee is charged on all Frank’s Boots. All returns must be in new, unworn condition with original packaging and sales receipt within 30 days. Return shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
- If it is found to be a result of material or workmanship flaws, we will guarantee it for a period of up to 1 year from the purchase date. We do not warranty boots damaged by fire, or other natural elements, or normal wear and tear.
- We cannot guarantee the comfort of a safety toe boot, as we purchase steel and composite inserts from a third-party supplier, so any rubbing or contact in the toe box is not covered by our warranty. Please contact us with your concerns and we will determine what repairs are necessary.
- Every handmade boot is completely individual based upon the natural flaws and beauty of the hide. Our hides are extensively tanned in process of becoming ready to use, Franks is limited in our ability to guarantee variations in consistency and imperfections present in the natural leather. This includes variances in leather color, the cleanliness of lighter colored hides and imperfections, such as slight blemishes present in natural leather. Natural streaking, texturing, and isolated discoloration are not covered under our warranty policy.

If you've previously owned a PNW Handmade Boot:
We can transfer over sizes quite easily. You can email info@franksboots.com or call us at 509-309-2903 to explain sizing differences. We offer many different shoe lasts and toe shapes to accommodate your needs.
If this is your first handmade boot:
Download the fit sheet, print it out and READ the directions thoroughly. Here are the most important things to remember:
- Take a minute to watch the video & read through all the instructions.
- Make sure to be standing up while having someone else trace your feet.
- Be sure you are distributing your weight equally onto both feet
- Use a thin barrel pen.
- Do not print your fit sheet double sided.
- Please mail your completed fit sheet to:
Allow at least 2 weeks for your fit sheet to arrive. It’s best to use registered mail, so you'll have a tracking number. This will be your confirmation that it has been received and avoid having to call or email to check.
- When your fit sheet arrives, it is date stamped and will be matched up with your order, if you have already placed one.
- You then go in queue to be assessed by our fit consultant. Please understand we receive dozens that arrive daily, so we really appreciate your patience, as it may take up to 5-8 months to receive your assessment phone call.
- We are a truly custom fit boot company and take our assessments very seriously…Please know we are working diligently to get through as many per day as we can.
- It is up to your helper to get us the most accurate measurements in order to get the most accurate fit. Please make sure to not measure only once or twice, but measure a third time to be 100% certain of your accuracy.
The lead time on a MTO boot is currently at 12-16 weeks. This is provided we have built a boot for you in the past, or you know your size, last, and/or model with another PNW boot maker.
If a try-on is sent to you, the 12-16 week countdown begins when your try-on boot has been returned and received by us.
If it is determined at the time of your fit sheet evaluation, that a custom last or custom upper is necessary, there will be additional fees applied and lead times will be longer as a customized last or special uppers must be built specifically for you .
NOTICE: Please print legibly. All questions MUST be answered on this form or it will result in delays in assessing and processing your order and in some cases, it may be returned to you and you will lose your place in the queue.
